Allow me to introduce you to, if you have not yet experienced it for yourself….

The joy and gastronomic fun of a charcuterie board

Charcuterie boards or simply charcuterie (shar-Koo-Tuh-Ree), actually dates back to 15th century France.

Traditionally, a charcuterie board consists of cured (salted or smoked) meats and cheeses. Of course, being of French origin, the charcuterie is normally paired with wine.

(FYI, the practice of salting and smoking meats to preserve them dates back 6,000 years to ancient Rome.)

Today however, the rule when it comes to creating a charcuterie board is that there is no rule!

If you’re hungry and want something fun to eat—arrange it on a charcuterie board any which way you like!
